Impromptu Visit

I was just looking through pictures and realized I forgot to post these cute pics.  Gigi and Pops were just “really missing Emma” two weeks ago so they took advantage of their last couple of days of Gigi’s Spring Break to make an impromptu visit to Tulsa to get their “Emma fix.”  She addicting people- I tell you what!!!

We’ll see you all in a couple of weeks for Easter!

Snow in late March!

I love Oklahoma weather! It’s so unpredictable! There were tornado warnings yesterday and snow drifts today. Emma and Koby LOVED the snow today. We think we got around 6 to 7 inches!!!

Here are some pictures from our snow adventure from mid-afternoon today.

27 months old!

Those of you that have been around me for a while know that my favorite number in the whole world is the number 27.   No, I’m not superstitious, but believe me, that number follows me… just ask my family and friends!  As a matter of fact, I’d love it if my family or friends would comment on this post about their “favorite 27 story.”  Any takers?

Emma’s 27 month Birthday definitely deserved its own post.   I can’t believe it!

I love Emma more and more each day.  She is my joy.  Somewhere along the way, she has become such a little lady.  She has her own ideas, her own thoughts, her own opinions.  I love to watch her learn, think, and grow.  She says new and funny things every day.

She’s a girly girl who loves purses, loves babies, and who does NOT like to get messy.  She is not a touchy-feely girl though.  She rarely gives hugs and kisses- she shows love through her actions and good deeds.

She continues to be very observant, always concerned about everyone in the room (including strangers)- what they are doing, how they are feeling, if they are ok.  She is very thoughtful.

She loves to read books.  She begs us to read book after book and often reads to herself for hours during naptime.

She loves her babies.  She takes them to and from her room for naps during the day.  She clothes them, bathes them, sings to them, and reads to them.

She also loves her independence.  She loves to open and close doors, turn lights on and off, and she’s starting to try to get dressed herself!

Here are 4 pictures that I took today after church while hanging out in her room.  I think they depict her 4 favorite things right now: her daddy, her babies, her books, and her independence.

I’m cherishing every day because I know she’ll be 27 YEARS old in the blink of an eye.

Getting Braver…

Each time we go to the mall playground Emma gets a little bit braver. Rather than sitting by me and watching the other kids, she has started to venture out and have a good time for herself!

This past Friday we went with Pops, Gigi, Daddy and Baby Madeline and she really had a ball! (maybe she was showing off for her guests!)

(I love this face… this is the face she makes when ANY child gets within 1 foot of her… she really values her personal space!)

She was SO excited that daddy was there to watch and play.

Fun Times with Old Friends

Last week we got to spend some awesome quality time with great old friends from college, The Kreys.

Conner and Robin have been best friends since the 4th grade in Tahoka, TX.  When they get to hang out, there is just NO telling what kind of madness the wives will have to endure!

Conner and his wife Kathy now live in Waco and have adorable twin boys named Elliott and Oliver who are a little over 2 and half years old.  It is so fun to be able to watch our kids grow up together!  We try to get together about 2 times a year… not enough, but all we can manage living 6 hours apart.

The Kreys came to visit last week (their Spring Break) and stayed with us from Tuesday night- Saturday.  We had to be very creative to entertain three 2 year olds!  I wish the weather had cooperated with us, but the boys did enjoy getting to see snow- how random!

Rather than going to parks and zoos, we opted for some indoor activities like the Aquarium, the mall, and Chuck E. Cheese’s!  We had a blast.

The funniest thing was watching Emma learn about boys and how they play and watching the boys learn about girls and how they play.  We caught the boys pushing around their matchbox cars in Emma’s stroller- how odd for us not to see a baby in the stroller!  The boys also experimenting trying on some of Emma’s bows.  I’m not sure their daddy was happy about it.

“Look Mom, Emma has these things called BOWS and we just took them all out of her drawer!”

Beautiful Spring Friday

Emma and I had a great Friday today!  The weather is SO beautiful right now- it was about 80 degrees with a nice breeze.

We started the day by going to the park with some of our playgroup friends.  Emma was a little bit timid for the first 30 minutes but then she ventured out and tried the slides and she loved them.  She didn’t want to leave the park!  Thanks Kennedi and Eli for teaching Emma to be brave and for showing her the ropes!

Next we met up with Nana for some spring shopping.  Here are a few pictures showing some of the items that Emma wanted to purchase.  She sure does love stuffed animals that are twice her size!

This evening we met up with good friends Chloe and Coleman (and their mommy and daddy) for some yummy food at Scott’s Hamburger’s in Bixby.  Emma spent most of the time at dinner arranging her food in neat rows.  She did, however, take some time to enjoy a yummy chocolate malt!  She LOVES shakes and malts.

I have several recent videos to post.  If anyone has a super easy way to post videos, let me know.  It always seems to take me forever.  Thanks!
