What’s Your Guess?

We could possibly found out the gender of our 2nd child next Thursday, June 4th and I can hardly wait!

Obviously we will only share the news if our Dr. is pretty positive about his observation! With our last pregnancy, we were told that our baby was a boy at 14 weeks, then a girl at 18 weeks! Wow that threw a curve ball in my plans!

I’ll be almost 16 weeks at my appointment this time and the Dr. told us he would most likely be able to determine the sex. Yipee!!!

So, I’m curious what everyone else thinks we are having… just because it’s fun to guess. Robin and I go back and forth. Robin thinks we’re having another girl and I just don’t know. Today, I think we’re having a boy. We will be overjoyed either way!

So… go to the poll at the top left of our blog page and take a second to put in your vote.

Thanks!

Zoo Trip

Emma and I had the pleasure of meeting some of our playgroup friends at the zoo today.  The weather was a little bit warm but it still made me happy because it felt like the official start of summer.

Emma was tired at the beginning of the zoo trip because she was awake during the night but she still had a great time… she was just very very quiet!

We’ll definitely have to make another trip to the zoo later this summer!

Memorial Day Weekend

We just wrapped up a wonderful 3 day weekend spent with both sides of the family.

Robin’s sister and brother-in-law, Crystal and Tommy (and their dogs Smallz and Max), traveled to Tulsa on Friday night to spend the weekend with us.  We had an awesome time with them hanging out and catching up!  Crystal is expecting their first baby (Baby Zane) in September so this will most likely be their last trip to Tulsa before the baby comes.

Robin’s parents joined us on Sunday afternoon and stayed through Monday.  It was a quick trip for them, but I know Emma really loved seeing them (and Robin and I did too!)

Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

Here is Emma sitting in one of our guest dogs’ beds.  She had so much fun playing with Smallz and Max (I’m bummed that I didn’t get a picture of them together):

Tommy playing the boxing game at Incredible Pizza- he worked up a sweat, burning over 400 calories!  Maybe I should have played this game too!:

Emma really thought she wanted to ride the choo-choo train, but quickly changed her mind after the ride began.  (don’t worry- I rescued her quickly after taking this picture!):

Emma was very tuckered out after a long day at the park- she was falling asleep in her daddy’s lap- this was our cue to pack up and go home for naps!:

Thanks to all of our family members who traveled to come see us this weekend- we had a great time and we hope you did too!

Thanks also to Aunt Judy and Uncle Ron for a yummy lunch today- we had a great time being with everyone.

Just for Fun…

Here is a picture of Emma on her first day of school this year, and a picture of Emma taken today (Yes, I put the same dress on her and drove her over to mom’s house so I could take a picture of her in the same place for comparison!)

I think the most noticeable changes are:

1. Her hair has gotten longer

2. She’s taller!

3. She’s not a baby anymore!

What a difference 8 1/2 months makes!

Last Day of School

Tuesday was Emma’s last day of school and we are all SO sad!  Emma absolutely loved school this year- even more than I imagined that she would.

I was hesitant about starting her in a 2 day program when she was only 20 months old but to this point, I think it’s one of the best parenting decisions we’ve made!

We really saw a change in Emma when she started school.  She started talking more, she made friends, she ‘came out of her shell’, she learned to follow directions, she learned to share, she learned songs about Jesus, and I could go on and on!

Here are some pictures from her last day of school.  They had “Water Play Day” on the last day she is wearing her swimsuit and cover-up (and carrying gifts for her teachers.)

I was very impressed with the teachers for tackling a water play day with 8 two year olds!  They changed all of them out of their wet clothes and into dry clothes- that’s impressive!  They said Emma loved playing in the water.

Sunday School Fun

“All ready for church mom!”

IMG_0063

This past Sunday was our turn to get to work in Emma’s Sunday School class during the church service. We always have a great time but are completely exhausted when the hour and 15 minutes are over! It’s fun to get to see Emma interact with her friends.

Aubrey, Emma, and Mackenzie, friends since infant-hood!

Babysitting

We’ve had the opportunity to watch 2 adorable babies on 2 separate days the past week.  This was so fun for Emma… she normally takes care of her pretend babies, but this time she got to play with real live babies, and she LOVED them!

Last Tuesday, we got to watch sweet Kynlee (6 1/2 months) for a couple of hours in the morning.  Emma was only at home for about 15 minutes before she had to go to preschool- but she adored her and was very sad when she had to leave to go to school.  Just look at Emma’s face in these pictures.

Does Emma look like she’s gonna be a good big sister or what???

Then… on Saturday night we got to watch Cooper (9 months old.)  He is learning to crawl and Emma decided she could offer some lessons so she got down on the floor and crawled with him.  She was very sweet to him also… except for once when he touched one of her toys and she yelled “MINE!!!”  Guess we have a few things to work on!

Both of these babies were incredibly good-natured babies… Robin and I kept looking at each other going, “When are they going to cry?”  Emma was an extremely fussy, spirited baby.  We wouldn’t change her for the world but we are praying that baby #2 is a tad more easy-going. :)

Pedicure #2

All week last week Emma kept asking me if Nana would come over to paint her toenails… so she did!  Nana came over on Friday night and brought a bag of supplies- leave it to Nana to bring Spring’s prettiest OPI nail colors for the 2 and half year old to choose from.  Emma selected a very pretty coral pink shimmery color.  Emma sat very still while Nana trimmed and painted her nails.  She even sat still during the drying process!

She’s even got the fingernails drying pose down!  I think we have a girly-girl on our hands!

Emma Bossing Daddy Around

This has to be one of my favorite videos of Emma to date. The video is kind of dark but you’ll definitely get the idea. This video is true evidence that we need another child…quickly! I’m seeing more and more every day that she thinks the world revolves around HER (which it kind of does but that is beside the point!)

She definitely has her daddy wrapped around her little finger- especially when it comes to play time. Don’t get me wrong- he disciplines her when necessary. BUT, when it comes to play, he does whatever she asks him to do: hide behind chairs, dance, jump up high, lay on the floor, have tea parties, sit here, sit there…. well, just watch this video and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
