We’ve had a strange week around our house. Mommy has gotten to play nurse to my own kids all week!
I should have known that Emma was getting sick when she took a nap out of the blue last Sunday afternoon and was snoring! (She doesn’t nap anymore!) Monday she started running a high fever. I took her to the Dr. on Monday and he tested her for the FLU! There have already been several cases in our area. Yuck. Luckily, it was not the flu but he suspects that it was Parainfluenza, similar to the flu. Emma was sick pretty much all week. She did a lot of sleeping and lounging. She missed ballet, choir, and two days of school. I knew she was sick because she didn’t even seem to mind missing these activities. She was very clingy all week. The Dr. said Foster would probably get sick too. Guess what? He was right!
I think we are finally on the tail end of things. While I would never wish for my kids to get sick, I have to admit that this week has been somewhat “nice.” We spent lots of quality time together- lots of reading books, playing “I spy,” playing pretend, etc. Sometimes it’s nice to not be rushing around. Being forced to stay home can be a blessing in disguise.
On Tuesday afternoon I decided we needed to go in the backyard for 5 minutes of fresh air! Here are my two sick kiddos.
