Friday April 19th was the annual “Run 4 Fun” at Emma’s school. We are learning that Emma LOVES to RUN! Unfortunately the weather was really crummy that day. It was extremely cold and windy! All of the kids had to wear coats and they really should have had gloves and hats on too! Oklahoma weather is so unpredictable!
Robin, Foster, Cash, and myself all went to cheer Emma on. She wanted Daddy to run one lap with her and I ran a lap with her as well. We had a great time!
Here are Daddy and Foster going to the gathering area before the Run festivities began.
Here are the kids doing stretches before the race- we wouldn’t want any of them to pull muscles!!
Here is Emma on her first lap. I sure wish she had let me button her coat and fix her hair better that morning. Oh well.
Check out that smile! Did I mention that she loves to run?
Here is her adorable Chinese teacher, Miss Emma. Her English teacher, Mrs. McDaniel, ran all of the laps with the kids as well but I wasn’t able to get a picture of her. (she must have been running too fast!)

Here is her cute teacher, Mrs. McDaniel counting all of her ducklings.
This semester, Nana has been so gracious to take Emma to and from dance every Tuesday night. Emma really wanted to take dance with her friends Aubrey and Kinley and I wasn’t sure I could entertain Foster and Cash for an hour each week in the waiting area! Robin, Nana, Judy, and I all got to go watch Emma dance on April 16th. The girls demonstrated some of the skills they learned this semester and then tried on the recital costumes and performed their dance one time for us. They did such a great job!
Here are Emma and Aubrey waiting for their turns to dance!
Trying on their costumes- I just loved the color!
The end of year activities this year seemed to be busier than ever the past few months! On several occasions both Emma and Foster crashed on the couch in the evenings. On this particular evening, both kids crashed on Daddy. Can you find Emma’s legs underneath Robin? And yes, that is her big stuffed dog that she likes to cuddle with!
- This blog post is kind of a mess. I’m having major issues with my normal blog software so I’m giving this a try. Pictures are all different sizes. Oh well! Here goes my iphone pictures from April!
Cash’s first time in the bumbo seat- what a big boy!
Emma had to stay home from school one day because she wasn’t feeling well. All day long she read books to Foster in her bed. It was so so sweet!
One day we got to bring home our friends from church… Foster and Landon in the back… Aubrey and Emma in the middle.
Emma trying on some lip gloss
Foster sitting with Daddy in big church on a Sunday nightFoster wiped out on Daddy’s lap!We got a free swingset for the kids off of Craig’s List. We borrowed our neighbor’s truck to go pick it up. I laughed the whole way there watching Robin drive a pick-up truck. He just looked so funny!
We cleaned out our garage in August and found some of the awesome heirlooms we acquired from my Dad’s tools… included were these awesome glasses with flashlights on them!During our Lubbock trip we fed the ducks at the local pond- this was Foster’s first time to get to feed the ducks!
Emma at the bus stop with good friend JayceeOne day Emma said something disrespectful to me (kinda broke my heart.) Robin talked to her about the importance of respecting Mommy. When I got home from work that night this letter from Emma was on the counter. She made it without any prompting. I’m sure we’ll have many more Mother-Daughter tense moments but I pray we always find ways to work through them!
We got a new patio poured in our backyard during April- just in time to enjoy it for Spring! Foster LOVED watching the cement truck in front of our house!
